Some Altered Bottles

Those bottles had been motivated by challenge on Cloth Doll Artistry (mixed-media) studio, and me having stock of bottles, just one day , from soda mostly , there are a few results of my experiments. The day came :) First picture. Blue bottle painted from inside using glass paint and then baked. Decorated with tulle, some dimensional paint, a top - electrical bulb, painted also, some bling, beads inside. Rounded one - from Michael's, painted outside with glitz dimensional paint, stuffed with tulle and beads, some embellishments and a ball on a top from some winter decoration. The bottle below - regular soda glass bottle covered with tissues and modeling paste, I had one that was very liquid, almost like pva, face mold by Sherry Goshon I had for some other projects :), some branches from tree, spray painted and then decorated with some things I had around. Two more bottles in work. Now, I justified saving glass bottles and jars. I'll show what I did with the jars using one of the links on pinterest. But it will be another post. As my son is saying - Ta-da for now! :) Hugs, Helen

ADQ Bridal Challenge

I was so thrilled when I was told that my doll was accepted for publications! I was on those clouds in front of which I photographed the doll :) Thank you so much for accepting my work! Now, when the publication is out, I could post some pictures. The bird was made out of felt, each piece of the wing is made out of felt and fabric for texture and layering, legs made of wire and wrapped in tulle. I really had fun doing that bird but have to tell that photographing a white felt - was not easy at all. Have a great day!

I won People Choice and 3rd place in the BEAD challenge!

Guys, you would not believe, I won People Choice and 3rd place in the bead challenge! I am so excited and happy, like a kid again! :) It is a great place that I like to buy beading kits a few times in a year, I am not saying I am making them all, but I had to have it :), for that magical time I will have time to sit down and make...OK, getting sidetracked, as usual. Place is Beadseast.com ( great service also, no affiliation) . If you click on Bead Challenge you could see all wonderful finalists. Long story short, I was happy that I finished it on time and mail on time. Then I learned that I made into finalist, I was exstatic and when I learn I won 3rd place and People choice - for once I was speachless :)
I created bird out of felt and then beaded wings, tail with the beads that were provided in a kit. We could not use any of the beads outside the kit and as much as possible from kit provided. Her feet are made out of wire and then wrapped with the yarn that was provided also and it could stay on its own. I know that I am not jewelry designer, I would leave that to great masters, but I really wanted to play. I was doing some birds out felt at this moment and thought, why not to combine birds and beads :) You could see the results! Hugs, Helen
